The new session in 2021 signals the reopening of schools after a whole year of online studies. While the reopening of schools has elicited a mixed reaction from parents, students and teachers, it provides a ray of hope that things will return to normalcy gradually.

The year 2020 was filled with doubts, challenges, uncertainties and new lessons. With schools turning to online classes for the session, a new routine was set for the students. Jupsoft Technologies — a pioneer in educational ERP systems — helped schools make the transition to online schooling with the help of their innovative solutions. Right from facilitating live classes to conducting online examinations and generating online report cards, Jupsoft supported hundreds of schools across India to shift their educational activities online.

However, the uncertainty regarding the end of the pandemic continues; and it is feared that the pandemic may have serious impact on the education system in the longer term. Hence, it is critical that educational institutes and authorities begin preparing for in-school learning once again.

The beginning of a session heralds multiple tasks like managing admissions, dividing the students into new batches or sections, creating new schedules or time tables for the classes, collecting fees, updating records for students, etc. This year, however, may be a little different from yesteryears, due to the continuing pandemic situation. Jupsoft Technologies is always ready to ease all your work with its Online School ERP i.e. Jupsoft’s eConnect K-12.

The reopening of schools will bring with it a new normal this year with smaller class sizes, and unwavering adherence to safety protocols. Proper and constant use of masks and face coverings, personal hygiene, regular washing of hands and following the distancing norms will be a part of the daily routine to check further spread of COVID-19.

Schools need to consider a number of things before welcoming back the students to the premises. Of the many challenges for the schools, the most critical ones would be:

a. to ensure that students get the right guidance and psychological support, since they would be coming back to school after a year-long break and would have developed habits that go with online learning like anytime learning, access to pre-made notes and ready reckoners, more stress on objective type questions, etc.

b. to sanitize and disinfect each and every area of the school on a daily basis; or even twice if the school operates on shift- basis.

c. to arrange safe and sanitized transportation for the students.

d. to make infrastructural changes to accommodate the students while maintaining physical distancing guidelines.

e. to simultaneously stream the lessons online, especially for classes with huge numbers or with students whose parents do not consent to send their wards to schools yet.

f. to split the classes into smaller groups and operate in shifts if possible. Lesser time spent in school would also mean that the children need not carry lunch or refreshments, thereby avoiding sharing of food among students.

g. to keep a tab on students and make them follow distancing norms even during breaks or in-between the classes, and also while travelling to and from the school.

In spite of all the challenges, schools, students and parents are eagerly looking forward to reopening of schools, and are hopeful that the new session will commence with a new ray of hope and a new normal, which will lead the way to a brighter future and a stronger world.

It is predicted that the year 2021 and beyond will see more of a mix of online and offline learning — popularly known as Blended Learning. Blended learning is a combination of both forms of instruction where students interact with the teacher, the material, and other students through both a physical classroom and an online platform. The resources and infrastructure for the same have mostly been developed during the pandemic, and are projected to set the path for a more inclusive, more interesting, more personalized and far reaching educational programme.

Jupsoft Technologies has been supporting the schools during the pandemic with its path-breaking solutions and is dedicated to provide technical support to its clients in delivering the best to their students always. It has been a front-runner in blending technology and innovation with customer centric approach, and has spearheaded the school management and automation technology in India.
